Scrooge: The Musical
Audition dates have been announced!
The Ross Ragland Theater is excited to announce Scrooge: The Musical as this Winter's community production. Based on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, the play features the cold stingy Ebeneezer Scrooge who has no place in his life for kindness. After a series of extraordinary experiences, Scrooge awakes on Christmas morning with love and joy in his heart.
Auditions will begin Sunday, October 16th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will continue on October 17th and 18th from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. both dates. Callbacks will be on Wednesday, October 19th from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and final read throughs will be on Thursday, October 20th from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Ragland’s production of Scrooge: The Musical, which is being directed by Kathleen Adams, will be presented December 15-18. Thursday-Saturday performances will be at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday performance will be at 2 p.m.
All those auditioning will be required to move, read parts, and sing a prepared song of your choice. Rehearsal pianist Dan Crenshaw will be able to accompany individuals (please bring your music) and will assist in the audition process along with Associate Director David Wehr. Those auditioning are expected to wear appropriate attire (clothing you can move in) and footwear (no street shoes allowed on the stage). Characters of all age ranges are needed to complete this cast of six principal roles and numerous supporting and chorus parts.
