[ Theater Camp Opportunities ]

The Ross Ragland Theater is excited to announce another 3 theater camps to the youth of the basin. The camps are filled with theater games and socially engaging exercises intended to establish and strengthen skills used in the performing arts.

Missoula Children’s Theater for Spring Break Youth Theater Day Camp for (Ages 6-14)

MCT Spring Break Youth Theater Day Camp offers an intensive one-week session, to students in grades K-8, providing a complete immersion into the world of theater and the arts. The 2020 camp experience culminates with two performances of The Emperor New Clothes.

“Dress for success” is good advice that the Emperor takes whole-heartedly, wanting to impress new friends. But where to stop? When the clothes (and other people’s opinions) become more important than the people of the kingdom, trouble brews. To help their beloved Emperor find the way back to his heart, his true friends create an elaborate “birthday suit” for the Emperor to wear for his birthday parade celebration. The Emperor quickly and humbly learns that sometimes “less is more”!

Summer Youth Theater Day Camp for (Ages 10-18)

We’re excited to announce the Youth Summer Camp production for 2020, Beauty & the Beast Jr. The Ragland Summer Youth Theater Day Camp offers an intensive three-week session, to students in grades 4-12 (ages 10-18), providing a complete immersion into the world of theater and the arts. The 2020 camp experience culminates with two performances of Beauty & the Beast Jr.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

With many fun supporting roles allowing students to play objects inside the castle, this “tale as old as time” is filled with spectacular costume and set opportunities.
